For 46 years, Harry Lee Cross, III, has helped buyers and sellers accomplish their real estate goals.  As the owner/broker of Cross Realty, Harry carries on a family tradition of real estate and appraisal expertise that began when his father, Harry Lee Cross, Jr., started Cross Realty in 1953. Harry is a Suffolk native, a graduate of Suffolk High School and William & Mary, and a former Navy Flight Officer. He began his successful career in 1973 when he joined Cross Realty. He has received numerous Gold sales and Platinum awards. He is a Broker and held the Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license.

“Helping my clients make the best decisions for their particular situation, whether buying or selling, is what I enjoy most about being a broker/agent,” said Harry.  Not only do his clients benefit from his years of experience in real estate, but so do his agents because he mentors each one. Harry also has served as Chairman of REIN, which is the Multiple Listing Service for all of Hampton Roads. He was Chairman of the Suffolk-Franklin Board of Realtors before its merger with the other regional boards. Harry’s personal interest and involvement with others is not limited to his business, which gives annual scholarships to deserving college-bound students.

Following his parents’ examples, Harry is also a well-known community leader. Throughout his career, Harry has served as President of the Rotary Club, Chairman of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the local YMCA and member of the regional board of directors, Chairman of the United Way, Chairman of the Community Action Coalition, Board member and past President of the Suffolk Foundation, Sunday School teacher for forty-five years, and President of the Suffolk Youth Athletic Association for ten years.  As President of SYAA, Harry oversaw its growth from 50 boys playing soccer to 500 boys and girls playing softball, baseball, basketball, and soccer. He was a familiar face on the SYAA fields, where he coached soccer, baseball and basketball for  many years. In recognition of his community involvement, Harry received the Jaycee’s Outstanding Young Man award.

Locally, you can spot Harry on the tennis courts— he was part of the USTA National 4.0 Championship 50’s Team in 2003--and, of course, at Cross Realty, where you are certain to get expert real estate advice.

Harry’s favorite Hampton Roads treasure?

“Wow, too many to mention! I really like being a resource for people for whatever they need in Suffolk. If I do not personally know the answer to their question, then I know who does! I do know all the great little places to eat in town, so just ask.”
